Bangladesh Women’s Health Coalition (BWHC) Celebrated the World AIDS Day on 01 December 2018 like every year. The theme of this day is “Know Your Status “. The Government of Bangladesh along with all other organization working on HIV/AIDS also observed the day with due importance. BWHC staff participated in the rally and attended in the conference held in Krishibidh Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Complex, Dhaka on 01 December 2018. Female sex workers from various DICS and different NGO, donor agency, International organization and GOB representatives attended in the conference.

After discussion , It was mentioned that HIV first identified 1989 in Bangladesh. 5,586 persons identified by HIV Effected till 2017. Newly identified 865 persons are HIV effected. Presently, 63 of Rohinga peoples are identified effected by HIV now in staying in Bangladesh. Presently, 74% Male, 25% Female and 1% transgender population of Bangladesh now in HIV risk .

Separately BWHC centers also observed the day. On the occasion of this day, special services have been provided which included free Medical Checkup, Blood Grouping etc.
